Your Oenovangelist

The beginning

With a childhood mostly bereft of wine on the table except for sacramental wine at mass, I became curious about wine in my mid-20s. Wine- the only beverage prominently featured in literature, integral in two of the three largest world religions, the drink of royalty and peasant alike. As I began reading and tasting different wines, I began to understand.

The move

A theater kid, I decided to remain in my hometown of Las Vegas for college, studying mass communications with a broadcast production focus at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After working for nearly 15 years in sales/marketing and advertising and a few introductory trips to Napa/Sonoma, Washington and Oregon, I decided my next step was to make this increasing passion for wine my new profession. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I dove headlong into Napa Valley.

Today

The ad start-up I moved to work with failed to start, but I landed on my feet pouring part time at a familiar winery, then soon found full time employment in sales. I was able to study with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust beginning at level 3 and earned my advanced certification in 2016. In the past decade plus, I have been fortunate to glean experience at a range of wineries and collectives, representing an array of wines by some of the valley's top winemakers, including international wines. Most recently, I managed all hospitality, marketing and sales for a small family winery until their retirement and the shuttering of the brand. I decided it was time to combine all this varied experience and knowledge into consulting and offering a growing list of enthusiasts and collectors access to great wines by small producers I know and trust.

In perhaps a callback to that early acknowledgement of wine at church, I now consider myself an Oenovangelist and I welcome the opportunity to be yours.
