Special premier access to the inaugural release of this new Cabernet Sauvignon project by Napa's first black woman winemaker, Victoria Coleman.

Trained by the likes of Warren Winiarski at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and Michael Silacci of Opus One, Victoria Coleman is a trailblazer, being the first black woman to graduate in viticulture and enology at UC Davis. Following graduation, she worked a season with Erick Tourbier at Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux. She was the inaugural winemaker at Bazan, crafted 10 vintages in China, made MC4 from St. Helena and was the winemaker for Lobo Wines since the 2008 vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon. The first vintage of her own project, Joviah is now available with two single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon wines, one from the Oak Knoll District and one from Atlas Peak. Subscribers will receive the link to acquire.

Established in 2003, this propery was developed with top talent in careful selection of plant material, clones and orientation, who later sourced the fruit for the likes of Littorai, Radio Coteau, Rivers-Marie, Ramey and Vice Versa. Located in the Freestone-Occidental area on the far west Sonoma Coast, the microclimate and prized Goldridge soil combine with the carefully selected clones and rootstock to make this "grand cru" caliber for exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This wine is also overseen by Thomas Rivers Brown and though a separate allocation, I am able to work with you on building a combined shipment from both Outpost and Platt Vineyard. Ground shipping is complimentary for purchases made in July during the new summer release of Outpost! The inaugural 2023 vintage remains available in very limited amounts- both Pinot Noir wines are nearly sold out. The Reserve Chardonnay received a perfect 100-point score.

One of the longest consistent projects by superstar winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, from estate fruit at 1800' and 2200' atop the volcanic rock of Howell Mountain. Following Prohibition, it was resurrected and replanted exclusively to Zinfandel by Bob Lamborn for his own label from the mid-70s to when it was sold in 1998 and plantings expanded to include Grenache, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thomas was assistant to original winemaker, Ehren Jordan of Turley in the early 2000s. After launching his consulting business the following year of first crafting the wine here, Outpost became his first client and he has overseen winemaking here since. The wines have developed a loyal following and regularly receive high praise from the critics and journals and production remains quite limited.
